Pastor Obeng urges potential Christian couples to adhere to marriage procedures

Pastor David Asumani Obeng, the Out-going Bono Regional Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has cautioned young-adults and potential Christian couples to strictly adhere to the procedures and laws governing Christian marriage, before tying the nod. 

 He emphasised that laid down procedures of the Church, and Christianity for marriage were in line with the laws governing the marital institution in the country, saying disregarding those procedures was a breach of national marital laws. 

 “We have laws governing the marriage institution in this country”, Pastor Obeng stated, saying “until something happens, you will not know that the laws are there working”. 

 He reminded that the Christian marriage was in line with the nation’s Marriage of Ordinance which required “one husband one wife”, asking them to endeavour to go through the required procedures spelled out in the law until they go to the altar. 

 Pastor Obeng gave the advice when was speaking at a meeting of the church to officially introduce Pastor Samuel Abgenyafia, the newly appointed Coordinating Regional Overseer for the middle belt of the church, comprising Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions to its pastors, and workers. 

 It was attended by the various Divisional, Group and District and Location Pastors as well as workers of the church drawn from Abesim, Yamfo, Techire, Ohene-Djan, Chiraa, Kuotokrom, Odomase, Nsoatre, Wawasua, and Atronie. 

 Others also came from Agozo, Area Four, Newtown, and Ridge groups of the church in the Sunyani Municipality. 

 Pastor Obeng indicated that the Ordinance Marriage in Ghana, among others, required that potential couples obtain registration certificate after 21 days of notice placement, and asked them to follow the laid down procedures in order not to be found wanting. 

 In a sermon, Pastor Agbenyafia urged the leaders, pastors and workers of the church to remain serious in building their spiritual and godly lives. 

 “God expects pastors, leaders and workers of the vineyard to shine and with those shining lives we would be able to impact the church, our homes and thereby bring transformation in the lives of people and society”, he stated. 

 Pastor Agbenyafia asked them to strive hard for holiness and righteousness, urging them to study and adhere to the doctrines of the Bible, develop themselves academically and avoid mediocre lives.
