Let us end Casual Christianity, and be Bold Believers— Ps. Jerry David

In a fiery prophetic message delivered at CCC in Kumasi, Dr. Jerry David called on Christians to reject fear, compromise, and what he described as “casual Christianity,” urging the Church to rise in boldness and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ with renewed conviction.

Preaching under the theme of Romans 1:16 — “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation” — Dr. David said he felt compelled to speak prophetically, declaring that the world stands on the edge of a spiritual breakthrough.

“The church has too often exchanged the roar of the Lion of Judah for a whisper,” he told the congregation, adding, “God is raising a new generation of prophetic voices, especially among the youth, who will not compromise truth but will boldly confront the culture with the gospel.”

Dr. David referenced the recent killing of outspoken Christian activist Charlie Kirk, which he described as martyrdom, noting that persecution has historically fueled the advance of Christianity. “You can take out the messenger, but you cannot take out the message,” he emphasized.

Drawing from Ephesians 6, he reminded believers of their call to spiritual warfare, urging them to “put on the full armor of God — truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the Word.” He stressed that prayer is not preparation for battle but the battle itself, declaring, “No weapon formed against God’s people shall prosper.”

The preacher also rebuked what he saw as casual attitudes in worship, saying reverence for Christ must surpass even the protocols extended to earthly kings. He prophesied that God is raising “an army clothed in His armor, filled with His Spirit, and carrying His authority” to confront darkness in this generation.

Closing the service, Dr. Jerry David led the congregation in a bold corporate declaration: “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” He urged believers to carry this conviction beyond the pulpit into their homes, workplaces, and communities, living as unashamed witnesses for Christ.
