One of the personalities rumoured to have shown interest in the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s flagbearership race, Hon. Eric Opoku has acknowledged that it is God who enthrones Kings and leaders of nations.
The Minister of Food and Agriculture according to multiple reportage will join leading members of NDC like Mr. Julius Debrah, Chief of staff, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party’s National Chairman and others to contest primaries to lead the party in the 2028 general elections.
Though, Mr. Opoku who is also the law maker for Asutifi North has not deny nor confirm those rumours except to say only God knows.
The astute politician speaking on the Citizen Show on Accra 100.5 FM on Friday, August 22, 2025 is leaving his entire political live in the hands of the almighty God.
He was quoted to have said:
“God has a way of choosing leaders for the NDC over the years, and if that favour falls on me, why not? I will gladly accept it,”
“Sometimes, when leaders are chosen, some may dislike the decision, but it becomes what everyone must rally behind to win the next election.
“If the party’s grassroots decide I should lead them, I will lead them.”, Hon. Eric Opoku stated.
