Rev. Wengam Champions Culture of Honour and Revival in Eastern Region B Apostolic Visit

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, has reignited a powerful conversation on servant leadership and spiritual renewal during his Apostolic Tour stop in Eastern Region B.

Held at the Akim Oda Central Church, the event brought together hundreds of ministers, their spouses, retired clergy, widows of pastors, and church leaders. But beyond the intense intercessory prayers and biblical exhortation, what left a lasting mark was the deep display of honour and compassion: a rare but much-needed emphasis in modern ministry.

In a moment that moved many to tears, Lady Monica Wengam, wife of the General Superintendent, quietly presented cash donations and gifts of cloth to retired ministers, their spouses, pastors’ widows, and pastors’ wives. Her simple yet significant gesture spoke volumes about the heart of the church’s leadership: one that remembers, one that gives, and one that heals.

“We must not forget those who have laboured before us,” Rev. Wengam said, echoing a central theme of the tour. “The church must remain not only a house of prayer but also a sanctuary of honour.”

The visit, part of Rev. Wengam’s ongoing nationwide Apostolic Tour across all 24 administrative regions of the church, is building momentum around themes of prayer, holiness, and a return to foundational values. Preaching from Matthew 21:13, he declared, “A church that does not pray is dead. And worse, it becomes a den of thieves. This is not a rebuke, but a call to return to the altar.”

The gathering was further marked by a vow renewal ceremony for married couples, emphasizing the church’s commitment to strengthening families and raising a generation grounded in love and spiritual discipline.

Regional Superintendent Rev. Obed Asiedu described the visit as “historic,” thanking the Wengams for their humility and passion for grassroots ministry.

As the Apostolic Tour presses on, Eastern Region B will not only remember the prophetic call to prayer—it will also carry the torch of honour, sparked by a quiet gift and a loud message of love.
